In designing these two projects, I learned the importance of hand graphics, especially in the field of
Landscape Architecture. Clients like to see pen and marker graphics in the conceptual stage, suggesting the notion of flexibility and adaptability to their desires. The concept is not finished and their feedback can easily be assimilated when suitable.
While hand drawing spaces, furniture and plants to scale without using a ruler, I developed the of skills of visual proportioning. My hands got comfortable setting up a 1x1 or 2x2 meter grid and begin a concept plan. Moreover, the hierarchy of elements and how they are depicted graphically became something I meticulously presented. Designing such luxury spaces outdoors allowed me to be sinuous and playful with forms by imagining being the user of the space. My passion for creating outdoor and landscaped spaces today is profoundly influenced by the projects I participated in between 2011-2012. Until today I always start each project with a hand sketch
and drafting.
