En 2017, East African Properties (EAP) a entrepris de convertir son usine de pâtes et de céréales existante en un projet immobilier. Ce site industriel est situé au centre d'Addis-Abeba, à proximité de la rivière Tinishu Akaki.
J'ai été embauché directement par les propriétaires pour être le développeur de la vision et le responsable de la conception de ce projet. Afin de préserver les intérêts du client, une partie du projet consistait à recueillir les commentaires de la communauté locale par le biais de charrettes de conception et à travailler avec une société de conception chinoise. J'ai élaboré des directives de conception, une analyse du site, une planification financière et une programmation architecturale. Tout au long du projet, j'ai dirigé l'équipe d'architecture et d'ingénierie. De plus, j'ai préconisé une approche écologique dans la planification du site en créant une zone tampon verte le long de la rivière qui sera utilisée par les futurs résidents de ce complexe. Il était essentiel d'atteindre l'objectif de construction de 500 unités résidentielles tout en offrant une cour agréable et des espaces verts aux résidents.

In 2017, East African Properties (EAP) embarked on converting its existing pasta and grains factory into a real estate development. This industrial site is located in the center of Addis Abeba and is adjacent to the Tinishu Akaki River.
I was hired directly by the Owners to be the vision developer and design manager of this project. Keeping the client’s interest, part of the project included getting feedback from the local community through design Charettes and working with a Chinese design company. I developed a design guideline, site analysis, financial planning, and architectural programming. Throughout the project, and managed the architecture and engineering team. Moreover, I advocated for an ecological approach in the site planning by creating a green buffer along the river to be used by the future residents of this development. What was critical was to meet the target of building 500 residential units and still provide a leisurely courtyard and green space for the residents.
