In 2020 Leyathotels purchased an existing structure of the ground plus 18, that was originally constructed to be a hotel and envisioned to be converted into Hyatt Place Hotel.
I was hired under Calibra Hospitality Management as the Client’s Representative to lead all 13 engineering and design disciplines in this project. I collaborated in the interior design and facade development phase. I was also in-charge of all design coordination to produce a full construction
document for tender. All design stages were approved by Hyatt Operators based in Zurich. I augmented client communication, team management, drawing coordination
, and site supervision skills. My favorite part was working with
the interior design team to create a material and furniture palette that was modern and represented the
local aesthetic of Ethiopia.
